Insurance Surveying

Our insurance surveying services are offered to insurance brokers and policyholders (the insured). The chartered surveyors and engineers at Hamblin Sullivan Associates are all experienced in dealing with insurance claims for all major perils including subsidence, fire and flood. The surveyors and engineers at Hamblin Sullivan Associates also have many years of experience of working as consultants for the major loss adjusting firms and we also specialise in the reinstatement of historic and Listed buildings.

When the worst happens we can work alongside your Insurer’s loss adjusters and interpret the provisions of your building insurance policy to ensure you receive the level of service you are entitled to under the terms of the your policy. In the event of major damage to a commercial premises we will take a proactive approach to ensure the minimal amount of interruption to your business by reinstating your property as soon as possible.

Under the terms of the policy the policyholder is allowed to instruct an independent building surveyor to oversee the insurance reinstatement works of their property with the fees forming part of the claim. You do not have to use the loss adjusters in house surveyor. Once instructed we will liaise direct with the Insurer’s loss adjuster to bring the claim to a satisfactory conclusion for you. We will be pleased to review your policy for you before undertaking any fee based work.

Hamblin Sullivan Associates are able to provide the following services in the event of a subsidence, flood or fire related insurance claim:

• Initial assessment of the building and report for Insurers.

• Arrange for any temporary works, such as temporary boarding, propping and securing of the site.

• Preparation of Specifications and Schedule of Works.

• Issuing and assessment of Competitive Tender Documents.

• Full Project Management of the repair works.

We appreciate that incidence of major peril can be a traumatic experience but we believe we can provide you with a service that will take some of the anxiety out of very stressful situation by providing a proactive approach to the reinstatement works, and by being readily available to discuss your concerns. We will also liaise and negotiate with your insurers loss adjusters on your behalf. Should you need to speak to your chartered surveyor or engineer at Hamblin Sullivan Associates you will have their number so you can contact them direct rather than having to go a call centre, which is often the case should you decide to use a surveyor from a loss adjusting firm.
